Climate vs. Weather
KQED Clue into Climate Change-Where I got the Climate change information from Day 2 on.
Day 1: Weather vs. Climate. What's the Difference?
ACTIVITY: After reading and watching the short YouTube video complete the Venn diagram on the back of the page. Also cut out the Weather or Climate sentences and place them in the appropriate boxes and then cut out the diagram and glue all into your ISN.
DAY 2: WATCH the Learn 360 Video, Climate, Water and Living Patterns video and complete the worksheet as you watch the movie. When completed cut out each column and glue all into your ISN.
Day 3: Read: The Greenhouse Effect and Climate Change
Watch the short video and answer the questions on the worksheet
Day 4: Click on this link: The Main Greenhouse Gases and scroll down to the diagram. Click on the touch icon to find out more about that particular greenhouse gas. Then answer the following questions in your ISN
1. How is the greenhouse effect a normal process for our planet?
2. How has human activities produced more greenhouse gases?
3. How has the greenhouse effect caused global warming?
Activity: Watch the movie At the Core of Climate Change and answer the following questions -there is a worksheet with different questions too.
1. How do scientists collect and analyze data from ice cores to learn about climate change?
2. How do ice cores show a record of climate that goes back hundreds of thousands of years?
3. Describe how there is a link between greenhouse gases and climate change? How are they connected?
4. What do climate models show (predict) about our future climate?
Activity: Read: Strand 1 Background Article: INCREASED GREENHOUSE GASES CONTRIBUTE TO CLIMATE CHANGE
After reading the article complete the Strand 1 Assessment (multiple choice and short answer). You may use any and all climate information we have gone over to help you with your responses. This assignment will count as a quiz grade.
